Director/Co-Director
The Southtown Teachers' Center is recruiting for the PT position of Director or Co-Directors.  Qualified candidates will coordinate all aspects of the Center including, but not limited to, State guidelines, budget, professional development, advocacy, programming, public relations and networking.  Qualifies candidates should have a NYS teaching certificate and experience in teaching and leadership positions. Submit cover letter and resume to STC Co-Chairs Katie Grogan and Erin Hostein by Friday, March 23, 2018 at: Southtown Teachers' Center, 4460 Bayview Rd, Hamburg, NY 14075.

Our Team

Always here to help

Janet Brooks 
Co-Director

Janet attended Westminster College for her BS in Education and Fredonia for her Master of Education.  She taught mathematics for hamburg/Fredonia Interns as well as an ad hoc instructor at SUNY Buffalo State College and Canisius College.  Janet was a member of Frontier's first graduating class in 1956 and retired from Frontier in 1999 as a K-5 Math Coordinator.

Janet has been serving STC as Co-Director since 2012.

Marianne Chiumento
Co-Director

Marianne retired from the hamburg School District in 2002 after 33 years as a teacher at Armor Elementary School.  She served as supervisor for the Fredonia-Hamburg Intership program for nine years.

Marianne was part of the team who wrote the original grant to start the Southtown Teachers' Center in 1984 and except for a brief respite when she first retired, has been involved with the operations of the center ever since.
Marianne holds a BA from D'Youville College, and M.Ed and MLS  degrees from the University of Buffalo.  She has served as Co-Director of STC since 2012.

Vanessa Rehac
Office Manager

Vanessa started as a PTA Parent Representative to the STC Policy Board and served as such until taking a job with the center in 2002.  At that time her main duties were creative design projects for teachers.  After the well earned retirement of Miss Becky, secretary extraordinaire, Vanessa took over as office manager.  Her first love remains working with clients to custom design materials for classroom and other purposes.  Vanessa holds an AS in Marketing and Management from Villa Maria College and has completed course work in Communication and New Media at  SUNY Empire State College.
