Thank you very much for all the support you have given to the Southtown Teachers’ Center this year. We are thrilled to tell you that, not only were Teacher Resource and Computer Training Centers funded for 2017-2018, but funding was increased by $6 million – to $20 million. All NYS Teacher Centers will share in this increase. So, many thanks for all the postcards filled out, phone calls made, and letters and faxes sent. We could not have done it without you!
We wish you an enjoyable, restful, and relaxing summer. Stop in and see us. Our summer hours (Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 AM – 3:30 PM) will begin on Tuesday, June 27th.

Our last local author for this school year (although there are many more local authors to consider) is Sandra Block. Dr. Block graduated from Harvard and then returned to her native Buffalo, NY for medical training. She lives here with her family and her impetuous yellow lab, Delilah. She is a practicing neurologist and a proud Sabres fan, and has been published in both medical and poetry journals.
Her first 2 books are novels with Dr. Zoe Goldman, a resident in psychiatric training, as the main character.
Little Black Lies (book #1) “is about madness and memory – and the dangerous, little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.”
The Girl Without a Name (book #2) “is a powerful novel of memory and forgetting, of unexpected friendship and understanding . . . and of the secrets we protect no matter the consequences.”
