Our History

Established in 1984 by a team of educators, administrators and dedicated community members, STC was among the first Teacher Centers in New York State. We have evolved and adapted with innumerable changes and innovations in education and technology over the years.  The center now hosts a large lending library, current professional periodicals, SEPTA library, and updated technology.

Each of the more than 120 Teacher Centers in NYS represents a grass-roots organization developed and operated locally by teachers.  Together, the Centers form a powerful network dedicated to delivering customized services to educators.

We are grateful for the support of our teachers, teacher aides, administrators, building liaisons, policy board and community organizations who have made it possible for us to remain true to …

“Service to all who educate.”
